Monaco → Cannes: the route in detail

57 km separate the Principality from the Croisette, roughly one hour on the A8. The drive crosses the Nice hinterland: leaving Monaco by the Basse Corniche or the La Turbie slip road, west on the A8, then exit 42 for Cannes.

The main constraint is leaving Monaco: the tunnels and access roads clog between 5 pm and 7.30 pm and during major events. Allowing 15 to 20 minutes of margin in those windows avoids any surprise.

  • Distance: 57 km
  • Average time: 60 minutes, up to 90 minutes at peak times
  • Route: A8 westbound, exit 42 Cannes / Mougins
  • Tolls and fuel included in the quoted fare

Pick-up points in Monaco

Monte-Carlo hotels (Paris, Hermitage, Métropole, Fairmont), Place du Casino, Port Hercule and yacht berths, Fontvieille, Larvotto, Grimaldi Forum, the Condamine business district, Fontvieille heliport.

During the Grand Prix or the Yacht Show we agree an authorised meeting point outside the closed zones in advance and send you the exact address the day before.

Drop-off points in Cannes

Palais des Festivals, the Croisette and its grand hotels (Carlton, Majestic, Martinez), the old port and Quai Laubeuf for the Lérins islands, the railway station, Le Suquet, La Californie, plus Le Cannet, Mougins and Mandelieu.

During festivals the Croisette is filtered: drop-off takes place at the authorised point closest to your hotel, which we confirm before departure.

Private chauffeur, train or helicopter between Monaco and Cannes

The train from Monaco-Monte-Carlo to Cannes takes about 1h10 with a frequent change at Nice-Ville, plus the legs to and from your hotel with luggage in hand.

A helicopter link exists between the two heliports but stays expensive and weather-dependent. A private transfer keeps the best comfort-to-predictability ratio: door to door, fixed price, one vehicle for the whole party and the bags.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a transfer from Monaco to Cannes?

Fares start at €265 in a Mercedes E-Class saloon, tolls and fuel included, from any address in the Principality to any address in Cannes. The price is confirmed before booking and does not change.

How long does Monaco to Cannes take?

About an hour on the A8 in normal traffic, up to 1h30 in late afternoon or during a major event in Monaco or Cannes.

Can you do a same-day return?

Yes, either as a return with waiting time or as hourly hire if your schedule is open. Hourly hire includes the vehicle and chauffeur for the whole period.

Do you drive along the coast or on the motorway?

The A8 by default, faster and more predictable. On request we can take the coast road through Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer and Antibes: about 30 minutes longer, but along the shoreline.

Can you collect a group with luggage from a yacht?

Yes. Give the berth and disembarkation time at Port Hercule; the V-Class van seats 7 and our minibuses up to 16.

How far ahead should I book?

In normal periods 24 to 48 hours is enough. During the Grand Prix, the Cannes Film Festival or a major trade show, book several weeks ahead: the available fleet on the Riviera is fully committed.
